WBJC-FM is a 24-hour, all-classical public radio station serving Maryland and the DC area for over 50 years and depends on listener donations to operate. Their challenge was balancing the proven fundraising boost that premiums provide with the added cost and complexity of offering them—so premiums had to be carefully chosen and targeted to their classical-music audience and donor demographics.

WBJC solved this by offering audience-aligned premiums (classical CDs, concert tickets, restaurant certificates) only at higher contribution tiers within a seven-level giving structure, promoting the annual premium list in mailings and on-air, and managing fulfillment in-house. Using FundRaiser Professional to process gifts, print labels and track inventory, plus interns to package orders, they reduced fulfillment costs and losses, improved inventory control and delivery speed, and sustained an increase in contributions while keeping offerings simple.
