Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) is a national hunger-relief nonprofit that collects and distributes 30–40 million pounds of fresh produce each year. For the past two years their #GivingTuesday campaigns have grown quickly — from $65,000 to $87,000 — but the organization faced the challenge of processing a huge volume of online gifts (71,000 credit card donations in December) without overwhelming staff with manual data entry.
To meet that challenge SoSA built #GivingTuesday-focused webpages, customized the post-donation landing experience, and adopted the FundRaiser Donor Portal to automate most online gift entry. The result: faster, simpler donor transactions, far less staff time spent on data entry (staff now only confirm matches or create new records), and continued growth in online giving that directly supports packaging and freight for their produce distribution.
