Parkesburg Point Surges to Success with #GivingTuesday Crowdfunding Campaign

Parkesburg Point, a local nonprofit serving youth, needed a more strategic approach to #GivingTuesday after a weak effort the year before. Facing its first crowdfunding push and wanting to grow its donor base and volunteer engagement, the organization needed better planning, messaging, and tools to close the gap between donations and their campaign goals.

They hired a grants and communications manager who implemented a six-week branded messaging plan, produced a video, secured a $5,000 matching grant, and mobilized 400 volunteers to share the campaign on Facebook and Instagram. Using FundRaiser software for crowdfunding, donor follow-up and volunteer tagging (and technical support for imports), Parkesburg Point hit its $10,000 #GivingTuesday goal, raised $10,870 on the campaign, increased visibility and new donors, and strengthened capacity for year-end fundraising.
