A Data Driven Future Activating Donors Through a Record Setting Campaign

Oregon State University Foundation partnered with Fundmetric to quickly launch Beavers Care 2020, a student emergency fund campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge was to raise urgent support for students in financial hardship while also building the data foundation the foundation needed to become a more data-driven, donor-centric organization over the long term.

Using Fundmetric’s fundraising platform, the OSU Foundation launched digital appeals in days, tracked constituent engagement in real time, created targeted giving pages, and personalized emails and donor journeys. The campaign generated more than 1,000,000 data points, raised $1 million across 2,000 donors, identified 1,117 donors for retargeting after abandoning the donation page, produced 18 targeted giving pages, and converted 33% of donors as newly activated or recovered; 114 constituents also became repeat donors.
