Case Study: Protege Fund Services achieves faster, more accurate fund administration with FundCount

A FundCount Case Study

Preview of the Protege Fund Services Case Study

Achieved efficiency gains and accurate reporting across complex client portfolios

Protege Fund Services, an independent fund administrator in Singapore, faced growing complexity across hedge fund, private equity and venture capital client portfolios and found spreadsheets could no longer meet its needs. Accuracy of output was the single most critical requirement in its vendor search, and Protege evaluated FundCount’s platform — including FundCount’s “Sandbox” try-before-you-buy offering — to ensure the chosen solution could handle multi-asset accounting, reporting and partnership allocations.

FundCount was implemented as Protege’s core accounting system, unifying partnership and portfolio accounting, a multicurrency general ledger, reporting and an ETL upload tool that automated previously manual journal entries. The FundCount solution cut time to administer funds by more than half, reduced time to generate client reports by at least 60%, improved transparency and accuracy via drill-down calculations, and supported Protege’s rapid growth (sixfold in two years) while enabling continued expansion using FundCount’s broad asset and analytics capabilities.
