A Fulcrum Case Study

Providing advocacy and resources for Rhode Island’s homeless

House of Hope Community Development Corporation is a Rhode Island nonprofit that conducts street outreach, advocacy, and case management for people experiencing homelessness with a team of 5 full-time staff and 13 interns. Before using Fulcrum, outreach workers relied on paper notes and delayed/manual transfers into an expensive HMIS, which led to lost details, poor coordination across teams, and limited data access for interns.

By adopting the Fulcrum mobile app, staff now capture data on the spot, sync notes in real time, and use geo-pinning and time stamps to locate clients and document homeless status. Interns train in under 30 minutes and can contribute data immediately, improving accuracy, enabling better care coordination, supporting client access to resources, and providing mapped evidence for advocacy and planning.
