RAM Utilities, founded in 2009, provides wood utility pole inspection and treatment services for rural electric cooperatives in the upper Midwest. Their inspectors perform up to 150 inspections per day, but their custom offline web app on iPod Touches (with external GPS cradles) became unreliable after iOS changes, and alternative platforms were either too costly or had too steep a learning curve—leading to field downtime and lost productivity.

Switching to Fulcrum gave RAM a flexible App Designer to build a core data-collection template and quickly customize it for individual customers, plus the ability to bring existing customer data into the field. Offline maps and record storage enabled rapid deployment in remote areas, and the Fulcrum API produces daily summary reports so inspectors can track progress and meet productivity goals—making Fulcrum an indispensable, responsive platform for their operations.
