A Fulcrum Case Study
Fresno County faced urgent recovery needs after the September 2020 Creek Fire and required a way to rapidly collect accurate damage-assessment data to share with FEMA. County officials needed a solution that could be deployed immediately so recovery work could begin without the delays of paper forms or lengthy GIS development.
A retired fire chief consultant introduced the county to Fulcrum; after a short trial they converted the FEMA worksheet into an app in about 10 minutes and had staff and volunteers using multiple apps in the field the next day. Within 24 hours the county was running damage assessments on roads, hazardous materials, and structures, exporting a live feed to their GIS, and importing 8,500 road asset records so users could update existing points—delivering fast time-to-value and a highly user-friendly workflow.
