How Whisker Labs Protects Consumer Data and Streamlines Compliance in the Cloud

Whisker Labs, an energy IoT company that mines home electrical networks to detect hazards and manage energy, needed to prove cloud data protections for SOC 1/2 audits and to reduce the time and resources spent on compliance. To address this, Whisker Labs turned to Fugue, using Fugue’s tooling—including its “policy as code” approach and AWS environment documentation—to gain visibility into their cloud infrastructure and integrate compliance into DevOps.

Fugue documented Whisker Labs’ AWS environment for auditors, enforced infrastructure configuration controls so noncompliant deployments are blocked, and provided continuous visibility to optimize utilization and prevent data-exposing misconfigurations. As a result, Fugue helped Whisker Labs achieve SOC 2 Type 1 compliance, streamlined the audit process, and established a foundation for maintaining continuous controls as they move toward SOC 2 Type 2.
