KeyBank, a nationwide bank with about 17,000 employees, faced growing workforce disruption and a need to reskill and upskill existing staff to boost internal mobility, retention, and engagement. To modernize talent practices and make career development accessible enterprise‑wide, KeyBank evaluated HR tech vendors and selected Fuel50 in 2020 to support its Future Ready initiative, launching the Grow at Key (Fuel50) talent marketplace.

Fuel50 implemented its AI opportunity marketplace and integrated it with KeyBank’s HR and learning systems as the capstone of Future Ready, creating employee‑led, manager‑supported career pathways. The program drove measurable impact: a 72% user return rate, 100% increase in Aspiring Leaders participation, a 60% rise in training participation, 2,774 upskilling/reskilling actions, 9,858 skills assessed and one in three employees attending development sessions, improving internal mobility, engagement and retention.
