A Fuel Cycle Case Study
King's Hawaiian, a producer of Hawaiian sweet bread, faced a challenge with traditional market research tools that were too slow and infrequent to keep pace with evolving customer preferences. This led to some unsuccessful product launches. To get closer to their customers, their Head of Consumer Insights, Troy Figgins, turned to the vendor Fuel Cycle to implement an always-on research community called The Ohana Circle.
The solution from Fuel Cycle provided a DIY research platform that enabled continuous, agile studies at a fraction of the cost of previous full-service projects. This shift allowed King's Hawaiian to move from one large annual study to running multiple, quick-turn research initiatives, dramatically reducing per-project costs and providing faster directional insights. The internal demand for insights skyrocketed, fundamentally transforming the research process and positioning the insights team as a critical partner within the organization.
