King’s Hawaiian partnered with Fuel Cycle after years of growth made it hard to keep up with changing customer needs using traditional research tools. The company had tried some new products that underperformed, and its consumer insights team needed a faster, more agile way to gather direction from customers. Fuel Cycle’s online community solution, The Ohana Circle, gave them always-on access to customer sentiment along with tools like FCX for flexible research.
With Fuel Cycle, King’s Hawaiian transformed its research process into a more frequent, cost-effective, and continuous model using community-based insights, quantitative and qualitative methods, and partner tools such as Conjoint.ly, Remesh, and FastFocus. The results were strong: the community grew to 4,000+ members against an initial goal of 1,000, and participation reached 97% in 2020. Fuel Cycle helped King’s Hawaiian move from infrequent, expensive studies to rapid, ongoing insights that support product and brand decisions.
