A FTNI Case Study
Physicians Mutual, an Omaha-based health and life insurer, faced a significant challenge when a new billing system caused an 850% spike in credit card payments. Their existing bank-provided processing service was insufficient, and they needed a more sophisticated, streamlined, and secure solution that could meet stringent PCI and NACHA compliance requirements. They turned to vendor FTNI and its ETran receivables platform to address these issues.
FTNI implemented its ETran platform, which enhanced security and streamlined processes. The solution included working with credit card companies to proactively update expiration dates to prevent payment interruptions. As a result, Physicians Mutual saw tremendous growth, exceeding an entire previous year's credit card volume in just eight months and processing $4 million in electronic payments through new self-service capabilities. FTNI's solution also provided substantial upfront savings of $250,000 in infrastructure costs and saved 3,500 hours of development effort.
