Physicians Mutual Moves Credit Card and ACH Processing to the Cloud to Meet PCI and NACHA Data Security Requirements

Physicians Mutual, an Omaha-based health and life insurer, faced a sharp increase in credit card payments and growing PCI and NACHA compliance demands. To better protect payment data and streamline processing, the company turned to FTNI and its ETran integrated receivables hub.

FTNI implemented ETran to move credit card and ACH processing to a secure, cloud-based platform that removed transaction data from Physicians Mutual’s systems. The result was about $250,000 in upfront infrastructure savings, more than 3,500 hours of development effort avoided, and a four-month acceleration of PCI compliance work, while helping the insurer process millions in electronic payments more efficiently.
