Vineyard Theatre is a New York City nonprofit dedicated to developing bold new plays and musicals and has run online auctions since 2013 to support its work. Early on they struggled to generate buzz and engage gala attendees with a silent auction held in another room, making it hard to drive bids and awareness during their events.

They moved the auction online with BiddingForGood, promoted the auction URL across the gala, showcased high-value experiences (SNL and Hamilton tickets, meet-and-greets) and used a live leaderboard to spark competition. The approach boosted engagement, helped them exceed fundraising goals (spring auctions now bring in $23K–$27K annually, with standout lots like SNL fetching $11K), and has grown their auction program into a reliable revenue stream.
