United Planet is a Boston-based nonprofit that connects volunteers with immersive service programs in education, environmental sustainability and global health to “unite the planet one relationship at a time.” The organization needed an effective way to mobilize volunteers and supporters for focused fundraising and to amplify authentic stories from the field that would inspire giving and long‑term engagement.

United Planet leveraged Panorama’s (formerly FirstGiving) peer-to-peer fundraising platform and encouraged volunteers to share blogs, videos, social posts and even postcards from the field. The approach generated $389,430 from 3,719 donors, supported hundreds of community projects across 25+ countries, and helped United Planet engage over 10,000 volunteers who have contributed more than 1.5 million service hours and built lasting cross‑border relationships.
