Second Harvest Canada, the country’s largest food rescue charity, recovers nutritious unsold food from businesses and distributes it through its fleet and the FoodRescue.ca platform. When COVID‑19 hit, demand for food assistance spiked while major spring fundraisers were postponed and donations slowed, forcing the organization to rapidly adapt operations and fundraising.

Second Harvest kept trucks running, expanded FoodRescue.ca nationwide, and launched a COVID‑19 Emergency Relief Fund using Panorama by FrontStream, re‑branding an existing donation form on their homepage. The rapid response helped rescue nearly 2 million meals in March and raised over CAD$54,000 in the first week—more than CAD$324,500 by May 4—while accessible donor notes helped staff stay connected to supporters and guide relief efforts.
