A FrontStream Case Study
United Way of Aroostook faced slipping corporate support and needed new revenue sources to sustain its programs — a problem reflected in a United Way study showing corporate participation fell nearly 10% (from 27.1% to 17.9% between 2003 and 2013). To reverse the trend, the regional nonprofit looked for ways to broaden donor reach and make giving easier, especially around major campaigns like the Heating Homes with Helping Hands telethon.
They implemented the InstaGive online donation tool and adopted simple practices — a permanent “Donate Now” button, regular social‑media links, options for recurring gifts, and the ability to give to specific causes. The approach paid off: the telethon raised over $50,000, with more than half coming from online donations, while also helping the organization build stronger, longer‑term donor relationships.
