Topcon replaces manual testing with Squish Automated Tests

Topcon Precision Agriculture builds touchscreen console displays and embedded Qt software for agricultural vehicles that must be tested in varied real‑world configurations and connected hardware. Faced with time‑consuming manual field testing and a desire to virtualize more hardware, Topcon turned to froglogic and its Squish automated testing tools to reduce reliance on human testers while maintaining safety and coverage.

froglogic’s Squish (Squish for Qt and Squish for Windows) was used to develop nearly 1,000 automated tests over five years, run nightly and before builds via Jenkins, and supplemented with Coco for test effectiveness measurement. The automation saved field testers about 8 hours per build in year one and now about 10 hours per build, covers 1/3–1/2 of required tests, has caught many regressions before release, and supports round‑the‑clock testing across time zones.
