Squish Success at Selden Systems

Selden Systems, a provider of remote-office software solutions, faced slow, manual and home-built GUI testing that consumed significant development time (their prior automated solution took two man-years to build and test cycles ran about six weeks). To improve QA efficiency they evaluated and selected froglogic’s Squish testing tool to replace manual testing and their in-house automation, with CTO Marc Seter leading the effort.

froglogic’s Squish was implemented using Python-based scripted tests, cross-platform execution, and multi-application control to match Selden’s client/server needs. Within three man-months Selden replaced the old solution, cut the testing cycle to 3/4 of the original time using half the resources, doubled automated test coverage versus their prior tool, and expects to automate 97% of manual tests—resulting in higher product quality and faster, more maintainable QA processes.
