France Telecom - Orange needed to catch GUI bugs as early as possible for a softphone application, improve test coverage, and reduce manual testing effort. To achieve this they adopted froglogic’s Squish automated GUI testing tool (started in early 2007) to create regression tests specifically for their Qt-based UI.

froglogic implemented Squish with features like reliable Qt object recognition, Python scripting, shared object maps, and integration with HP Quality Center to run tests remotely and on a nightly schedule. As a result, France Telecom - Orange now has more than 300 automated Squish test cases executed each day, shortening the test cycle, reducing human resources, improving coverage, and enabling managers to review results and requirements coverage each morning.
