Precision Framing Technology Company, an industry leader in precision farming tools, needed to reduce test cycle times and find defects earlier for its Qt-based, embedded Linux touch-screen software. To build an automated GUI test framework they selected froglogic’s Squish GUI Tester after a quick evaluation, starting from only ~5% of test cases automated but already discovering about 10% of all detected defects.

froglogic’s Squish was integrated across embedded devices and simulators, with the first GUI regression tests live within two months and more than 200 tests in ten months. The Squish-based framework runs hourly, scales via reusable Python scripts, and improved test coverage, reliability and overall application quality; despite automating under 5% of cases it uncovers roughly 10% of defects, and the company is expanding its distributed Squish test infrastructure.
