IC Manage, a provider of next-generation design management solutions, faced the challenge of reliably testing multiple Qt-based products (icmpm, icmg, icmanage) across Linux, Unix and Windows while validating complex MySQL and Perforce data sets and keeping test coverage in sync with rapidly evolving software. To meet these needs they selected froglogic’s Squish (in use since 2006) for its Qt-focused capabilities — including attaching to running processes — and for responsive technical support.

Using froglogic’s Squish as the core test tool, IC Manage built a custom validation library, “smart” comparison routines for MySQL/Perforce, and a tailored error-reporting system that integrate with Squish’s recording/playback and reporting. The combined solution is embedded in their Sync Engine-driven workflow, runs over thirty test suites (being replaced by a unified next-generation set), and delivered measurable gains: major test suites now take days to a week to develop instead of a week to a month, with automated regression runs and clearer, more actionable test reports.
