Preview of the International Aviation Company Case Study

An International Aviation Company tests Java-based Aviation Systems on AIX and Linux using Squish

International Aviation Company, a provider of consulting, IT services and flight-planning software for major airlines, faced the challenge of reliably automating GUI regression tests for Java SWT applications running on AIX and Linux after migrating from OpenRoad. To meet cross-platform, object-level testing needs they chose froglogic’s Squish for its native object access, Eclipse-based IDE, scripting flexibility and strong documentation.

froglogic implemented Squish across the company’s lifecycle, integrating it with Jenkins to trigger roughly 270 automated Squish test cases and produce execution reports. Using features like the Object Spy and optimized Object Maps (with regular expressions) reduced test maintenance and development costs, delivered a significant increase in testing coverage for major and minor releases, and provided timely quality metrics for management.
