Travelex, a global foreign exchange company, sought to modernize its approach to employee experience by moving away from traditional engagement surveys. Their challenge was to gain future-facing insights across its 1,463 locations and understand how a major business restructuring was being received by its large, global workforce. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor Friday to implement a digital people operations platform.

Friday implemented a tailored system using seamless cloud technology to regularly measure employee happiness across 12 different measures. This provided Travelex's local managers with real-time data to improve the colleague experience. The solution delivered significant results; data from over 9,000 employees showed that the least happy 20% of staff were twice as likely to leave the company as the happiest 20%, demonstrating a clear link between happiness and retention that Friday helped to uncover.
