Welsh Government expands Climate Conversation reach to 3,800 attendees with Freshwater

The Welsh Government sought to facilitate a nationwide conversation on climate adaptation, specifically aiming to gather insights from the public, including young people and marginalized groups. They appointed the vendor Freshwater to manage the promotion and administration of its Climate Conversation Fund, which supported local community events during Wales Climate Week.

Freshwater managed the entire process, from creating an accessible application platform to providing guidance and resources for event organizers. This solution resulted in a 523% increase in applications, with events held in 19 out of 22 local authority areas. The initiative engaged over 3,800 attendees and provided the Welsh Government with essential data on public concerns to inform future climate policies.
