Wolseley, the world’s largest trade distributor of plumbing, heating and building materials, wanted to add personalization to its website and customer emails to streamline the buying journey and increase cart value. The E‑Marketing team partnered with Fresh Relevance to introduce on-site and email personalization quickly and at scale.
Fresh Relevance implemented Product Recommendations, Popover SmartBlocks, cart-abandonment messaging and targeted segment-based campaigns, showing relevant products in real time and prompting customers to add complementary parts during checkout. Within two months Wolseley reported increased sales and average order value, higher open/click/conversion rates, fewer but more effective emails, and reduced pressure on its helpdesk; the team is now testing countdown timers and the Site Editor for further optimization.
