Rip Curl, a global surf brand with more than 30 years in the market, needed a cost-effective, easily integrated personalization solution that would work across its bespoke platforms and multiple regions to recover abandoned carts and increase online revenue. The challenge was to deliver relevant, real-time product recommendations across responsive home pages and email without disrupting existing systems.
Rip Curl implemented Fresh Relevance’s personalization platform—using SmartBlocks for on-site and in-email “Recommended for you” content and targeted cart-abandonment emails—across the USA, Europe, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. The result: abandonment emails delivered a 10.3% sales uplift, the homepage/email recommendation SmartBlock added 1.8%, and overall sales swelled by more than 10%, with further roll-outs planned to product pages.
