Herring Shoes Ltd achieves its highest sales conversion rates with Fresh Relevance

Herring Shoes Ltd is a family-run British footwear retailer founded in 1966, selling premium English brands online. Facing the typical ecommerce challenges of recovering abandoned carts, growing and engaging its mailing list, and boosting onsite relevance, the company partnered with Fresh Relevance in 2016 to lift conversion and customer engagement across email and the website.

Using Fresh Relevance’s real-time personalization hub—cart abandonment emails, Popover and Product Recommendations SmartBlocks, and Countdown Timers—Herring Shoes saw strong results: cart abandonment emails achieved an 8.3% conversion rate (about 60 orders/month), the annual reminder campaign rose from 106 orders (3.7%) to 129 orders (5%), competition entries jumped from ~500 to 1,500 monthly (peaking at 2,300), and an A/B test of “recently browsed” recommendations drove a 111% increase in click-throughs, eliminating bot entries and delivering measurable sales uplift.
