Case Study: Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) achieves faster, more accurate multi-location supply chain planning and major cost savings with frePPLe

A frePPLe Case Study

Preview of the Science Applications International Corp. Case Study

How SAIC was able to generate complex plans with a whole set of aggregated parameters across multiple locations

Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) is a US technology integrator whose Logistics Department supports procurement for defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence customers. SAIC faced fragmented demand signals across multiple locations, poor ERP integration, heavy manual spreadsheet work, and rapidly rising maintenance costs from a legacy planning tool that limited their ability to scale. frePPLe was selected after a successful proof-of-concept through Agility ERP to address these issues.

frePPLe was integrated with SAIC’s Openbravo ERP (with Agility ERP support) to automate planning, improve data flow, and eliminate manual steps—planners now pull ERP data into frePPLe, review and adjust suggested purchase orders, transfers and production orders, then publish decisions back to the ERP. The implementation allowed constraint-based, “plan globally” logic and customer extensions, supports five SAIC lines of business, and enabled management of complex contracts (e.g., 400 tire SKUs across 60+ countries and global POL/chemicals deliveries totaling 42M+ packaged items over ten years) at a fraction of the legacy costs using a scalable, item-per-location pricing model.
