Finnlines improved real-time data sharing and customer collaboration with REST APIs

Finnlines, a shipping operator in the Baltic and North Seas and part of the Grimaldi Group, wanted to improve real-time data sharing, streamline access to digital services, and enable better capacity management and cost control. To support its digitalization and REST-based architecture, the company turned to Frends Enterprise iPaaS to replace more cumbersome integration approaches and make information sharing easier for customers and partners.

Using Frends Enterprise iPaaS, Finnlines built Customer Atlas APIs: a self-service REST API platform for schedules, allotments, tracking, and bookings. The solution improved collaboration and made integrations faster and easier to deploy, helping reduce manual work for both Finnlines and its customers. The APIs also accelerated implementation of a new Ireland route in 2022 by cutting mapping and routing time versus older systems, and enabled at least one major customer to build its own solution on top of the APIs.
