Fercam is one of Italy’s largest freight forwarders with a 65‑year history and a wide European network. Its Air & Ocean division faced a major challenge: managing rates from dozens of carriers with constantly changing tariffs while producing large volumes of daily quotes quickly and without relying on other teams. The manual, error‑prone process made timely, competitive quoting difficult.

Under Luca Cipani’s lead, Fercam implemented Freightos to centralize freight rates, automate quoting and provide business‑intelligence dashboards. Spot quotes dropped from up to five minutes to about one minute (freeing roughly an hour per salesperson per day), door‑to‑door quotes are set to fall from as long as two days to one minute once agents are onboarded, and centralized data reduced errors and rework. Customers and agents can self‑serve, operations access key order info more easily, and Freightos insights improved win‑rate visibility — with integration into a new TMS planned.
