Academy of Model Aeronautics Foundation’s success with FreeWill

The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Foundation sought to establish a robust planned giving program to grow its endowment but lacked a formalized process for these efforts. To address this challenge, the organization partnered with FreeWill and its Planned Giving Suite to structure its outreach and provide a platform for its donors.

By implementing FreeWill's solution, the AMA Foundation gained access to strategic resources and an intuitive platform that guided donors through the estate planning process. This partnership resulted in $6 million in total legacy gift commitments from 34 gifts. Furthermore, FreeWill's outreach directly led to two-thirds of the recorded bequest intentions from donors who had already named the foundation in their plans, uncovering over $2 million in prior commitments and engaging a new segment of first-time donors.
