State of Hawaii Department of Taxation speeds up form processing with Ultraforms®

The State of Hawaii Department of Taxation needed a faster, more accurate way to process more than a million tax forms each year and reduce errors from manual data entry and OCR scanning. Working with Foxit Software, the department used Ultraforms® technology to add 2D barcodes to its highest-volume tax forms.

Foxit Software implemented barcode-enabled forms that automatically captured user-entered data and allowed scanners to read only the barcode, speeding up processing and eliminating many keying errors. The result was a jump in accuracy from about 80% to over 90% on two key forms, with significant time savings across roughly 300,000 mailed-in barcoded forms.
