Case Study: Motor Presse Stuttgart achieves seamless, cost-saving PDF editing for 650 users with Foxit Software's PhantomPDF

A Foxit Software Case Study

Preview of the Motor Presse Stuttgart Case Study

Motor Presse Stuttgart now also features PhantomPDF under the hood

Motor Presse Stuttgart, a long-established German publisher of 27 special-interest magazines including "auto, motor und sport," needed a reliable Acrobat Pro alternative after Adobe moved to the cloud. With roughly 900 PCs across its companies and about 650 users needing full PDF capabilities — from merging and editing to OCR, signatures and SharePoint/Office365 support — the IT team evaluated alternatives (including PDFXchange Pro) but found functional gaps, especially around SharePoint editing and compatibility with certain Adobe files.

Introduced by distributor United ADDins, Foxit PhantomPDF met the requirements and was rolled out beginning May 2017. The familiar ribbon interface required no user training, SharePoint integration now works smoothly, and a single PDF/A printing issue was quickly resolved by Foxit support. The customizable solution let IT disable cloud functions, centralized licensing reduced cost-center pressure, and staff report being satisfied and able to edit documents across office workflows.
