Google Build Pdf Technology Through Foxit’s Pdf Sdk

Foxit partnered with Google beginning in 2013 to provide a robust, scalable PDF engine that could convert and render documents across Drive, Gmail and Chrome for desktop and mobile. Google needed high‑quality, cross‑platform PDF functionality so users could view attachments and Drive documents without downloading files, and needed a solution that would scale across many products and devices.

Foxit supplied its PDF SDK — a single, consistent core API with a built‑in viewer and features such as text reflow, font substitution, pinch‑to‑zoom, form filling and PDF flattening — plus ongoing support for integration. The SDK became the backbone of Drive, Gmail and Chrome’s PDF handling, rolling out to mobile and desktop, serving hundreds of millions (and contributing to Google’s 1B+ user base) and earning recognition as one of the highest‑quality PDF engines available.
