Dolphin is Bringing Full Reading Accessibility to Education Users With Blindness, Low Vision and Dyslexia

Dolphin, a UK-based accessibility software company and creator of EasyReader, provides reading solutions for blind, partially sighted and dyslexic users worldwide. They needed to give education users direct access to PDF books but lacked native PDF display and an accessibility-layer algorithm—until then PDFs had to be converted to formats like EPUB, so Dolphin evaluated in-house, open-source and third‑party options.

Dolphin implemented Foxit’s PDF SDK, which was easy to integrate and provided full PDF rendering plus the accessibility features required. The change lets EasyReader open PDFs directly, enabling access to education titles for an estimated 360,000 visually impaired people in the UK, increasing uptake in schools and higher education and paving the way for Mac and Windows expansion.
