Wildlife Protection and Education Through Innovative Technology

Wildlife Protection Solutions (WPS) is an international non-profit based in Colorado that repurposes advanced technology to prevent poaching and broaden public education about endangered species. Monitoring vast reserves in Africa and Indonesia with motion cameras, sensors and aerial surveillance, WPS faced the challenge of consolidating multiple data streams, extending remote monitoring and creating accessible educational resources.

WPS partnered with Four Winds Interactive to unify feeds using the FWI Integration Framework and launch FWI Mobile apps — a wpsWatch app that packages all data for remote volunteers and command centers, plus six free educational apps. The integrated system enabled a volunteer in Denver to alert South African teams and stop an active poaching incident within 15 minutes, protecting endangered rhinos, while the apps continue to support monitoring and public outreach.
