A large Washington state school district (the 4th largest in the state) had moved to a one-to-one laptop program for grades 7–12 but found many students couldn’t use devices at home due to lack of internet access. The district needed a secure, scalable software-driven kiosk solution with Wi‑Fi that could deliver both interactive and non‑interactive content, increase student and parent engagement, and be deployed across schools and the community.

The district partnered with Four Winds Interactive to deploy a Visual Communications network—seven on-campus kiosks and three community kiosks plus digital displays—providing Wi‑Fi and easy access to calendars, news, grades, assignments, videos and programs. The kiosks expanded equitable access to digital resources, boosted parent involvement and student learning outside school hours, improved district communication, and created sponsorship opportunities with local partners.
