Safeway, one of the largest U.S. grocery chains, needed to rapidly scale its e-commerce grocery delivery service—growing from 8 to a planned 18 states—while hiring roughly 20 hourly delivery drivers per week in a highly competitive labor market. To meet that challenge Safeway turned to Fountain and its hiring software/applicant tracking system to streamline and accelerate recruiting for a large hourly workforce.
Fountain replaced Safeway’s shared inbox process with a mobile‑responsive, four‑question interest form that feeds directly into the Fountain ATS, enabling recruiters to contact candidates by email, text, or phone same‑day or next‑day. The change eliminated missing data, shortened application time (applicants often apply within 30–45 minutes of a posting), and saved Safeway’s lean talent team about 10 hours of administrative work per week—helping the company hire faster and expand its delivery business more efficiently with Fountain.
