Realtimetime brings Game of Thrones to life with Foundry using 16k textures and 30-day trials

The customer, Realtimetime (a CG and animation studio), faced the challenge of creating a photorealistic trailer for the Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming PC game under immense pressure and a tight schedule, with no first-hand visual references. They used Foundry's Nuke and Mari to tackle this high-pressure project for the famously loyal fanbase.

Using Foundry's Nuke for its node-based compositing workflow and Mari for high-resolution character texturing, the team achieved a highly realistic and authentic result. The Foundry tools saved significant time through quick iteration, custom tool creation, and by avoiding costly re-renders when addressing client feedback. This allowed the budget to be used more efficiently and resulted in a trailer that successfully recreated the authentic Game of Thrones experience.
