A Foundry Case Study
Pixomondo, an international visual effects company, faced the challenge of creating over 800 complex visual effects shots, many in stereo 3D, for Martin Scorsese's film "Hugo." Their goal was to realize the director's unique artistic vision efficiently across their global studios while working within budget and time constraints. To meet this challenge, they utilized software from the vendor Foundry, including Nuke and Ocula.
Foundry's software provided a flexible and collaborative pipeline that enabled Pixomondo's global teams to work efficiently. Nuke was used for compositing and on-set previews, while Ocula solved stereoscopic issues and allowed for innovative effects. The solution was critical to the project's success, which culminated in Pixomondo winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Foundry's tools were instrumental in delivering the award-winning results for the groundbreaking movie.
