A Fotoware Case Study
The White House Historical Association, a nonprofit institution, faced the challenge of managing and providing access to its vast historical collection. Their previous in-house database and limited digital asset management system were inadequate, holding only 2,000 assets with minimal metadata and no integrated licensing. They partnered with Fotoware to implement its DAM solution to create a robust Digital Library for both internal and public use.
Fotoware’s solution involved setting up distinct internal and external archives, creating multi-department workflows for efficient asset review, and developing a fully integrated shopping cart for image licensing. This streamlined approach significantly increased the ROI of their DAM system. The results were substantial growth, with over 300,000 internal and 20,000 public assets, 4,000 registered users, and significant annual revenue generated through licensing. Fotoware’s system also supported the Association's rapid expansion to nearly 300,000 Facebook followers and over 20,000 viewers for new digital initiatives.
