How Queensland Museum Digitizes Workflows to Preserve the State's Heritage

The Queensland Museum, a custodian of over 14 million items across five campuses, faced the challenge of preserving and providing access to its vast and diverse collections. To centralize its digital assets and improve collaboration, the museum turned to Fotoware for its Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution.

Fotoware implemented a workflow system, including features like Interactive Markers, to digitize and manage assets through quarantine, appraisal, and quality assurance. This provided staff across all campuses with secure access, streamlined collaboration, and robust rights management. The solution has successfully managed nearly 100,000 digital assets and established a foundational workflow for digitizing an additional 360,000 analogue items, significantly improving preservation and accessibility.
