Westfield State University assesses 1.6 million sq ft with FOS of CannonDesign

Westfield State University hired FOS of CannonDesign to conduct a facility condition assessment (FCA) to create a data-driven framework for making decisions about its building infrastructure. The university needed a plan for its 32 buildings totaling over 1.6 million square feet to address deferred maintenance and capital renewal.

FOS of CannonDesign performed a hybrid-level assessment to deliver prioritized recommendations and cost estimates for asset deficiencies and renewal needs. The solution included identifying the risk and impact of failure for each issue and providing all the collected data in a sortable Excel format for easy analysis and integration into management systems. This ongoing project provides the university with the crucial data needed for informed long-term planning.
