Perkins School For The Blind - Customer Case Study

Perkins School for the Blind, a historic Watertown, MA institution founded in 1829, needed a comprehensive understanding of its campus assets to support 21st-century learning and continue serving students with blindness and visual impairments. FOS of CannonDesign performed a facility condition assessment (FCA) to evaluate the school’s wide range of facilities and specialty equipment across its 931,000-square-foot campus.

FOS of CannonDesign delivered a campus-wide assessment covering 1,500 specialty assets, including the Braille and Talking Book Library, technology center, offices, and residence halls. The team took 35,000 photos during the four-day on-site visit, and Perkins reported 100% positive reference checks, giving the school actionable insights to guide future facility improvements.
