Case Study: Knox College advances historic campus renewal with FOS of CannonDesign

Knox College needed a clear picture of the condition of its historic campus buildings and infrastructure to determine whether it could remain in its current location and plan for future capital needs. FOS of CannonDesign supported this effort with a comprehensive facility condition assessment (FCA) and accessibility review covering 83,000 square feet, including interior spaces, building envelopes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire detection systems, and limited site elements.

FOS of CannonDesign turned the assessment findings into a phased capital improvement program and then executed the initial phase of a four-phase design and construction project. The work established the infrastructure needed for the remaining phases, which included HVAC upgrades, washroom renovations, electrical modernization, window replacements, restoration of original lead-glass windows, and exterior/courtyard reconstruction, helping Knox College advance fundraising and strategic planning for renewal of its campus.
