Synovus, a financial services company, required a secure and efficient framework to support Single Sign-On (SSO) and federation for internal and third-party applications. The challenge also involved scaling to support mobile banking and securing access to their new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). They partnered with Forum Systems, implementing the Forum Sentry API Gateway.

Forum Systems provided an agentless gateway solution that centralized security and identity management, enabling dramatic improvements in authentication speed and secure service reuse. This allowed Synovus to reduce online banking sign-in times from 20 seconds to under 6 seconds and to develop and deploy a new mobile banking application in just 40 days by reusing existing web services.
