Large Electrical Grid Company - Customer Case Study

Forum Communications International provided its Consortium technology and support to a large electrical grid company responsible for overseeing the electrical supply for a large region of the southern United States. The customer's challenge was to migrate its mission-critical, real-time voice conferencing system away from discontinued T1 circuits and consolidate its infrastructure onto virtual servers.

Forum's solution was to design and implement a secure SIP/VoIP migration using MPLS circuits for the hundreds of power providers. Forum successfully moved the entire system to the new technology over the course of a year and virtualized the servers on the customer's VMware infrastructure. This resulted in a dramatic increase in network security and reliability while removing the expensive cost of the old circuits, successfully achieving the customer's consolidation goals.
