TransAction Solutions, a Sydney-based managed services provider with a 24/7 data centre (200 servers, 72 applications, 140 configurations) and 34 staff, was growing rapidly and facing rising operational risk from manual batch processes. Daily variables were entered by hand, increasing errors that cascaded into scheduling problems, longer batch windows and customer impact; adding headcount or building in-house tools proved costly and risky.
They implemented HelpSystems’ Robot Automated Operations (Robot SCHEDULE and Robot CONSOLE) in two months to automate batch schedules, manage multi-server job dependencies, automate file transfers and server checks, and reduce console noise. The automation now handles about 90% of ~2,000 monthly messages, lowered manual intervention and errors, reduced operator headcount for routine work, improved reliability and customer responsiveness, and shifted staff into higher-value help-desk roles.
